Islam Makhachev’s Body Count Gets Revealed By Manager Ali Abdelaziz

Born on October 27, 1991, Islam Ramazanovich Makhachev, managed by Ali Abdelaziz, is a professional mixed martial artist and former sambo competitor. He is presently the UFC Lightweight Champion and competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

In addition to winning the global championship in combat sambo in 2016 and the Russian national championship in 74 kg twice (in 2014 and 2016), Makhachev has been a professional competitor since 2010. He holds the top spot in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings as of November 7, 2023.

In his quest for his third successful championship defence—and his first against anyone other than Alexander Volkanovski—Makhachenko (25-1 MMA, 14-1 UFC) comes up against. Makhachev enters the fight on a 13-fight winning run.

Islam Makhachev Upcoming Fight For UFC 302

After two failed efforts, Poirier (30-8 MMA, 22-7 UFC) will earn a unique third chance at UFC gold. In 2019, Poirier challenged the friend and mentor of Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, for the first time. Charles Oliveira defeated him in his 2021 title challenge. Both losses were conceded.

Islam Makhachev is scheduled to face Dustin Poirier at UFC 302, where he will defend his 155-pound strap. Ahead of the bout, Ali Abdelaziz, who manages the champion, took to X (formerly Twitter), naming fighters over whom Islam Makhachev have emerged victorious.

On June 1, 2024, Makhachev will defend his championship against Dustin Poirier, the former interim lightweight champion, at UFC 302. FanDuel’s preliminary odds for the bout indicate that Makhachev is a big -500 favourite and Poirier is the +340 underdog. It looks like a mismatch.
