And my next fight will be only for the belt. So it could be an interim title if [Makhachev] doesn’t have time to recover his hand. If he recovers his hand, it will be even better for me.”

His most recent victory came against Charles Oliveira, the former lightweight champ. It was a split-decision win that had fans on the edge of their seats. Before that, he knocked out Beneil Dariush. He even fought against the champ himself back in the day. Now, it remains to be seen whether he can change the outcome of the previous fight and emerge victorious.
