“That’s never going to happen. I’m the champion, and if you want to fight for the title again, it has to be in Madrid instead of fighting in Australia in front of your people. Why would I want to give you that advantage?” Topuria stated during UFC 308’s media day.
Volkanovski will fight in Sydney next year, no matter who his opponent is. If he can’t secure a shot at the featherweight title, he wants to face Diego Lopes for the interim belt. Meanwhile, the focus is on the Topuria vs. Max Holloway fight.
