The UFC 303 is upon us. Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler were all set to take on each other in the main event. But as it turns out, the worst fears of every MMA fan came true, and Conor McGregor bowed out of the main event with an injury. The Brazilian kickboxing legend Alex Pereira came out of hiding to save all our weekends as the UFC announced the Chama will be defending his title against Jiri Prohachazka in the octagon.
Conor was all set to return after an injury he suffered three years back in the cage. But the MMA world will need to wait longer to witness the Mac back scrapping in the octagon.
Alex Pereira on UFC 303 main event
Alex Pereira is undoubtedly the biggest draw in the UFC in the modern era. The man has won two titles in less than ten fights in the promotion. He beat Jiri Prochazka to claim the Light Heavyweight title in the UFC. Pereira is known to have a deadly left hook in his arsenal that can shut the lights off any rival. Pereira, on his UFC 303 main event title defense, said,
I understand that this fight is very close and there may be difficulties with the lead up time BUT if there is somebody that can make this happen it is me! POATAN!
This is why I am one of the biggest names in the UFC Alex Pereira!!! I take risks that not one other person would be willing to take but I know I have my ancestors with me. The spirits are with me and I’m ready for it all.
Pereira made it clear that he is not a foreign to taking risks in the cage. He revealed that he became one of the best and most famous fighters for a reason. He also claimed that no one would take the risks he would put up with and said that his ancestors’ blood and spirit fuel the fire within him. Pereira has already finished five former champions in his first nine fights in the octagon.
Alex Pereira will be defending his title against Jiri Prochazka. He has already beaten Prochazka previously. Prochazka has always been a dangerous opponent in the octagon, and his ability to take damage is second to no one. Prochazka is known for his weird fighting stance in the cage. It will be interesting to see who will emerge victorious in the octagon.
