It’s difficult to become a champion in the UFC. But then there are some who just trailblaze their way to the UFC Gold. One such guy in the UFC was Demetrious Johnson who beat out every single opponent UFC put in front of him. A video was circulating online where Mighty Mouse was spotted submitting a much bigger opponent in a Jiu Jitsu tournament. UFC commentator Joe Rogan was talking about the same and was surprised and not at the same time.
Demetrious Johnson is one of the absolute all-time greats when it comes to mixed martial arts. Johnson is a well rounded fighter who is often considered in the mount Rushmore of MMA.
Joe Rogan expresses disgust over Demetrious Johnson’s submission
Demetrious Johnson being one of the greatest grapplers in MMA and being his daredevil self took on a much bigger opponent who weighed approximately 250 pounds. Johnson used to fight at the 125 pound division. He submitted the big opponent with relative ease as the big guy was frantically tapping to let him breathe by a much smaller opponent. In a video uploaded by Full Mount MMA Joe Rogan said,
How crazy is that? ‘Mighty Mouse’ took on a guy who is 250 lbs in a Jiu Jitsu tournament and he tapped him, the dude was heavier than him by 100 lbs.
Rogan expressed his shock at the event. He was seen talking about how difficult it is to fight Johnson as none of his opponents are able to match his pace. He also elaborated on how difficult it is to get Mighty mouse off your back in the event of him taking the back of his opponent. Demetrious Johnson left UFC a couple years back and won the championship title in the ONE Championship.
The fans are left to wonder what would happen if Demetrious Johnson would have stayed in the company and would have to fight guys like Sean O’Malley and others. Johnson has still not retired form his beloved sport of mixed martial arts and is often seen getting into a scrap inside the octagon or the ring. It’ll be intriguing to see of Demetrious Johnson returns to the UFC in the near future or not.
