In the past few years there have been many MMA fighters who turned to boxing. But a boxer crossing over to UFC is unheard of. That might not be the case anymore as boxing star Ryan Garcia has made a bizarre claim about beating striking and Bantamweight superstar Sean O’Malley. O’Malley recently defended his title for the very first time.
Sean was able to put up a clinic and dominate his opponent throughout the five rounds and won via unanimous decision.
Boxer Ryan Garcia claims he can take on the Bantamweight champion
Ryan Garcia is scheduled to fight next month against Devin Haney. He made an appearance in an interview where he was spotted making some rather tall claims. Garcia said,
He’d been calling me out for a while. You know. He called me out first. Let it be on the record. Second he tried to claim my song Superstar. I came out with that way before he even thought of it.
Ryan Garcia said that O’Malley has been calling him out and thinks he can beat the Bantamweight king relatively easily. This was a rather weird and massive claim given Ryan’s boxing background. The boxing starlet does not have any experience in MMA. Ryan has been on the headlines various times in the past many months. For talking trash to his boxing opponents and for romantically approaching various supermodels and pop stars.
It’ll be interesting to see Ryan come over to MMA and try out his luck in the octagon. The bout between Sean O’Malley and Ryan Garcia is definitely going to attract many eyeballs and goin to sell a ton of pay-per-views in the future. It’s highly unlikely even if Ryan tries his luck out in the UFC he’s going to directly get a title shot.

Currently the boxer is preparing to face Devin Haney who is the second big name that Garcia is taking on in recent times. Garcia and Haney have fought each other in the past before they turned pros. Both of them have six wins over the other. It’ll be intriguing to see who will come out on top after all is said and done.
If Ryan is to win his bout against Haney he’s going to become a major superstar in the boxing world.
