The UFC approached Pereira to be the main attraction of UFC 303 on short notice. Pereira did not think twice before agreeing to a deal. Pereria, in an interview, said,
They want me to do the main fight, on the card. I gave my proposition. My manager called me, came with the big news that everything was good, everyone is happy. They accepted it, so it’s good for me, good for the organization.
The Light Heavyweight king revealed in the telephone interview that the negotiations for the fight went smoothly with Dana White’s team. His manager approached him, telling him that the UFC wanted him to headline the UFC 303 main event, and Pereira sent his proposition. The UFC agreed instantly, and his manager conveyed the good news. Therefore, we got the thrilling main event matchup with Alex Pereira against Jiri Prochazka at the UFC 303 in Las Vegas.
The duo had already clashed in the middle of the ring last year, with Pereira merging as the bout’s winner. Many point out that the fight was an early stoppage, and Jiri Prochazka could have gone a bit longer. It will be interesting to see who wins the bout the second time in the octagon.
