Conor McGregor risked real damage while filming ‘Road House’ according to his co-star Jake Gyllenhaal.
The former UFC champion is making his Hollywood debut in the upcoming movie ‘Road House’ remake. The movie had its world premier recently and will be released for streaming on Amazon Prime Video next week.
In the movie, Conor McGregor worked alongside Hollywood A-lister Jake Gyllenhaal who is famous for his work in movies like ‘Nightcrawler’ and ‘Prisoners’. Speaking about working with the Irishman, Gyllenhaal revealed that it was a learning curve that McGregor had to go through while learning how to fake fight.
The movie is based on an ex-UFC fighter and features multiple fight sequences. As a result, it became sort of challenging for McGregor to act during fake fighting sequences and it was a learning that he had to take while filming.
During a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Jake Gyllenhaal spoke about how McGregor was new to fake fighting and said:
“I’ve worked with a lot of ex-fighters but they’ve learned how to be stunt people know in that sense they know how to fake fight. I think Conor had a learning curve. He had to learn.”

Has Conor McGregor acted in movies before?
No, Conor McGregor has never acted prior to the upcoming ‘Road House’ movie. Interestingly, this wasn’t the first movie that he was offered.
McGregor has admitted to being offered various film projects in the past. However, he declined those because of his ongoing fighting career. This was until he broke his leg in 2021 while fighting Dustin Poirier. With him being out of action and out of the USADA testing pool, this was a perfect opportunity for the Irishman to make his Hollywood debut.
That said, with the highly anticipated movie set to release next week, it will be interesting to see how fans receive it. Moreover, fans will be excited to see him back in action later this year after his formalities with the movie are about to end soon.
