Greg Hardy does not think he is a villain.
Ultimate Fighting Championship Heavyweight sluggers Tai Tuivasa and Greg Hardy will go to war this weekend at UFC 264 inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
During Hardy’s UFC 264 pre-fight news conference, the former NFL defensive end was asked about how much he thinks about using the perception of him being a villain, which the reporter was alluding to him being found guilty of assault and communicating threats against his former girlfriend while he was still in the NFL. Hardy was sentenced to a suspended 60-day jail term and 18 months of probation after it was alleged that he assaulted his former girlfriend and threw her onto a futon covered in guns.
Hardy wanted no part of that title as he explained he was an ‘awesome American’ who is a republican that votes.
The charges against Hardy were later dismissed, however, after the accuser did not make herself available for Hardy’s appeal. Hardy’s attorney, Chris Fialko, said the charges were officially expunged from his record.
Hardy has an MMA record of 7-3 with notable wins over Maurice Greene (UFC Vegas 12), Yorgan de Castro (UFC 249), Juan Adams (UFC on ESPN 4), Dmitry Smolyakov (UFC Fight Night 150).
