The UFC has seen countless tremendous and intimidating fighters make their presence known, but rising above the rest is no small feat. Yet, Francis Ngannou and Alex Pereira have managed to do just that, earning their reputation as some of the most feared fighters in the Octagon. Ngannou, although no longer with the UFC and now hunting his prey in the PFL, left a lasting legacy of dominance. On the other hand, Pereira continues to assert his intimidating presence in the UFC. Meanwhile, ‘The Predator’ himself, Ngannou, has spoken highly of Pereira’s abilities while also taking the opportunity to humble Jake Paul.
Francis Ngannou recently appeared on Jake Paul’s “BS w/” podcast to chat about his upcoming fight with Renan Ferreira. When the conversation turned to a potential showdown between him and Pereira, Ngannou hyped up Alex Pereira, calling him the real deal. Instead of talking about himself, the former UFC champ showed some serious respect for Pereira.
He stated, “[Alex] is a tough dude, he has some tough hands. I think you’re gonna get some tough nights [against him]. He’s a big size guy… this guy is BIG, solid. And he’s mean. He walks straight to you like ‘I’m gonna eat this guy’.”
Indeed, Ngannou is a beast in his own right—knocking down someone like Tyson Fury isn’t something just anyone can do. However, the fact that he doesn’t boast about himself and instead gives props to a Brazilian legend like Pereira shows just how highly he respects him.
No doubt, if these two ever face off, it’ll be a global event, with two of the worst fighters on the planet going toe-to-toe in the cage.
Chael Sonnen Doesn’t See Alex Pereira Doing Wrong By Fighting Khalil Rountree
There’s no denying Alex Pereira has the power to knock out anyone in the octagon. But when he was recently booked for UFC 307 against Khalil Rountree, it created quite a buzz, especially since many expected Magomed Ankalaev to get the title shot. As a result, there’s been a lot of criticism and debate around this decision.

In a recent social media video, Sonnen backed Pereira’s choice to fight Rountree, praising him for taking the match. He believes Pereira deserves recognition for stepping up to fight Rountree, yet feels the opposite is happening and that the matchup is a tough challenge for UFC Champ.
Indeed, Rountree has been on a winning streak, and if he can defeat Pereira, it would be a career-defining moment. Not only would he shock the world, but he’d also secure the title. However, all of this remains hypothetical for now, and it will be exciting to see how it all plays out inside the octagon.
