Remember when Ngannou shocked the world by walking away from the UFC as champ? Well, that decision is still causing aftershocks. The latest is a war of words between him and his former employer. Dana White, who never bites his tongue, recently claimed Ngannou would’ve made more money by staying put. But ‘The Predator’ ain’t having it. He fired back, branding the UFC bossman a straight-up liar.
White recently claimed that boxing payday is just smoke and mirrors. According to him, Ngannou would’ve been swimming in more cash if he’d stayed loyal to the UFC. ‘The Predator’s’ response was pure fire.
“Well unless he was the one writing me the cheque I don’t see how he can know that but me as the inside one who was receiving the money after leaving the UFC and from what the UFC was proposing, it was just a trap, it wasn’t a solid contract as well, so that’s a lie,” Ngannou revealed while talking to ShakMMA.
Francis Ngannou had always dreamed of being the next Mike Tyson. So when he got to step into the boxing ring, he pounced. He faced off against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, reportedly pocketing $25 million.
Ngannou is not done with MMA. He’s set to make his PFL debut against Renan Ferreira on October 19th. If he wins, he’ll be the first fighter to hold heavyweight gold in multiple significant organizations.

Dana White, known for his skepticism of MMA fighters crossing to boxing, didn’t hold back. He pointed out that Ngannou’s loss was precisely what he expected from these crossover matches.
“I saw it on social media. Going into the Fury fight, if Fury trained for the fight and didn’t show up and look like he ate Tyson Fury, that’s probably the way that fight would have ended, too,” said White at the UFC 299 post-fight press conference.
White’s reaction highlighted the ongoing debate about MMA fighters stepping into the boxing ring. But let’s not forget: Francis Ngannou’s journey from Cameroon to the world stage is remarkable. Despite the recent setback, his foray into boxing shows his ambition and courage.
