Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon has been a hot topic in the MMA world lately. The Irish superstar hasn’t fought since his leg injury in 2021. But now, former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen is casting doubt on whether McGregor even truly wants to fight again.
Sonnen is known for his sharp tongue and keen insights. He recently shared his thoughts on McGregor’s situation. He’s not questioning ‘The Notorious’s’ physical capabilities. In fact, Sonnen says he has seen him hitting the mitts, and he looked strong. But the ‘Bad Guy’ thinks McGregor might be lacking that crucial fire in his belly.
“Well, I can tell you he’s equally as capable. I believe that, you know, this big, strong Conor… But ultimately, you have to ask yourself, “Do I still want to do this?” And if the answer is yes, you’ve got to ask yourself an even harder follow-up question, which is, “Why? Why do I want to do this?” And it’s okay not to,” said Sonnen via Good Guy / Bad Guy show.
Sonnen raised an interesting point. McGregor has already achieved so much in his career. He’s been a two-division champion, made more money than he could spend in ten lifetimes, and become a global icon. What more is there to prove?
But let’s not count Conor McGregor out just yet. His unpredictable nature is part of his charm. He might surprise us all and come back with a vengeance. Or he might decide to focus on his whiskey business and live the good life!

David Feldman, the president of BKFC, dropped a bombshell. He claimed McGregor was itching to step into the bare-knuckle arena. However, the UFC still has a say in this matter. Conor McGregor has two fights left on his UFC contract, and Dana White isn’t likely to let his golden goose slip away that easily.
But Feldman seems pretty confident. He said that McGregor has been talking about fighting in BKFC as if it were a done deal. ‘The Notorious’ is furthermore a part-owner of BKFC, and Feldman argued that fighting for BKFC would make financial sense for McGregor. He’d be punching his way to profits, both in and out of the ring!
