It’s been over three years since Conor McGregor last stepped foot inside the UFC octagon. Although there had been multiple reports and hints from the former double champion himself about his return, it is still a mystery if the ‘Notorious’ will ever make a comeback. Also, he has hinted at potentially fighting in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) However, a former UFC lightweight champion, Eddie Alvarez, has voiced concerns about the Irish star’s growing age and believes the latter might not fight outside of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
In a recent interview with Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, Alvarez discussed Conor McGregor’s still having two more fights left in his UFC. He added that the ‘Notorious’ may not fight outside Dana White’s promotion because of his growing age.
“I think he still has two more fights with the UFC, and I’m not sure how old Conor is, but he’s not getting any younger. So it’s going to be tough for him to fight those fights out and move onto another contract,” Alvarez said.
It is noteworthy that Conor McGregor is currently 36 years old and will turn 37 by July 14, 2025. Considering the fact that he hasn’t fought anyone since losing to Dustin Poirier in 2021, it will be intriguing thing if he makes a comeback for his last two UFC fights.
