Anthony Rocco Martin was arrested over the weekend after punching a security guard in the throat who confronted him about urinating in the hallway of a Las Vegas Strip casino.
The 31-year-old former UFC fighter was arrested on one count of battery and one count of lewd conduct in a public place, both misdemeanors, after police were called to Caesars Palace.
Martin, who competed inside the UFC octagon 15 times, was asked to leave the property by security after a passerby saw him pissing in the hallway. He then refused the request along with refusing to show proper identification and “began getting very irate” before threatening the officers.
Martin was again advised to leave after being warned about potential trespassing charges. Security manager, Nathan Wilson, had to put his hand up to ask Martin to step back as he got in his face, and that’s when he was met with a punch to the throat. He was then subsequently taken to the floor and placed in restraints.
Police arrived and were shown security footage of Martin unzipping his jeans and urinating in a corner, as well as when he punched Wilson, according to the report.
Martin told police he was being racially profiled and was wrongfully arrested.
