Jiri Prochazka claimed to be fully prepared for his upcoming fight against Jamahal Hill. However, he might be leaving one of his strings loose that could come back to bite him in the back. According to a former UFC champion, when the doors close on Saturday, the Czech Samurai needs to be aware of not letting his defense go down in pursuit of his attacking style.
Former UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski recently broke down the UFC 311 mega fight. With both the fighters looking to rebook a date with the UFC light heavyweight champion, Volkanovski pointed out some glaring mistakes in Prochazka’s technique.
“Jiri [Prochazka], when I say he takes a lot of risks, [I mean] he likes to put his head in range, he likes to slip while leaving his hands down. Jamahal [Hill’s] gonna be ready for that,” Volkanovski stated on a recent YouTube upload.
And he does have a point here. After all, it was Prochazka’s head that got caught as Alex Pereira picked up a dominant win. Thus, if the former light heavyweight champion is to beat Hill, he will have to be extra careful. Meanwhile, Prochazka too, pointed out a weak link for Jamahal Hill.
Jiri Prochazka Points Out ‘Big Mistake’ Of Jamahal Hill
Jiri Prochazka does not like the fact that Jamahal Hill is obsessed with getting a rematch with Alex Pereira. After all, both of them have been defeated by Poatan, and winning the UFC 311 bout will give either of them the chance to have another go. However, instead of focusing on the fight on hand, Hill has been talking about facing Pereira a bit too much lately.
And this is what Prochazka thinks Hill’s ‘big mistake’ will be. Speaking on UFC 311 media day, the Czech athlete stated, “I will just say that it’s a big mistake (if he’s not focused on me). When you are not focused on what’s right before you, and you’re looking for another opponent, it will cost you a lot. Who are you? It’s just about staying humble, staying focused on what’s before you.”
