Lucasfilm has announced that they have fired Gina Carano for some offensive coments that she recently posted to her TikTok account.
The former MMA fighter was a star of the company’s popular Star Wars series, “The Mandalorian,” but based on the following statement from a Lucasfilm spokesperson, it looks like she’ll no longer be playing the part of Cara Dune:
“Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”
In her since deleted posts, Carano tried comparing the current political climate in America with that of Nazi Germany:
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”
This is not the first time Carano has come under fire for her social media activity. She also posted a photo of a person wearing several masks on their face to her Instagram story, with the caption, “Meanwhile in California.”
Prior to that, she also received criticism for social media posts that suggested voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election. And in November, she inserted “Beep/bop/boop” in her Twitter bio, in an attempt to poke fun at those who used preferred pronouns on Twitter.

Carano’s last MMA bout was back in 2009, when she lost to Cris Cyborg via a first round TKO at a Strikeforce event. She has since been cast for rolls in several Hollywood films, including Deadpool, Fast & Furious 6 and Haywire.
