The Middleweight division of the UFC is in a interesting spot. The division has seen three champions in the past one year. Sean Strickland defied the odds when he beat former champ Israel Adesanya. Strickland is known for getting rough in his sparring sessions.
But recently a video doing rounds on the internet might be indicating towards the fact that Sean might have found his ideal training partner.
Featherweight fighter stuns Former champion Sean Strickland
There’s a video going viral on the internet uploaded by MMA Talk where featherweight fighter Jair Perez who fights in Combate Global holding a record of nine wins and three losses. In the video that went viral Perez was spotted putting the pressure on Sean Strickland while hitting him some decent combinations of jabs and overhand right punches. Jair’s coach can be heard saying,
Go forward.
The coach certainly wants Jair to put everything at stake in sparring. Jair is one of the very few fighters who put Sean Strickland in a defensive position. Sean was seen backing down against the much smaller opponent. Strickland claimed the top prize in the UFC with his ability to brawl with anyone and everyone.
Sean Strickland last lost to Dricus Du Plessis who beat Strickland via split decision. It was a rather controversial loss given the fight was pretty darn close. Strickland in an interview given earlier claimed that he wants to fight for the UFC title again in the future for his next fight.

Strickland would definitely want to scrap in a much better fashion if he is to get his hands back on the strap. The 33 year old cannot be letting featherweights get the better of him in his fight. Jair who’s currently not fighting in the UFC would love to ultimately feature in the biggest and the most famous MMA organization in the world given the fact he can scrap with the former champion and current top contender in the division in the UFC.
