The UFC 300, which took place last weekend, was an extraordinary affair—the main event of the landmark card was no less. Jamahal Hill returned from injury to reclaim his light Heavyweight title throne, but beating out the Brazilian kickboxer was not easy. Hill got beat up by Alex Pereira, and things did not go his way. Since his knockout loss, Jamahal had a few days to reflect on the UFC 300 main event and recently gave his take.
Jamahal Hill was quite confident going into the main event of UFC 300 against a formidable opponent in Alex Pereira. As it turns out, things did not go his way.
Jamahal Hill on UFC 300’s main event
Jamahal Hill couldn’t reclaim UFC golf after getting beat by Alex Pereira in the first round. Pereira inflicted heavy damage in the first round when he hit Hill with a vicious left hook, followed by some powerful ground-and-pound shots. The referee sought an end to the contest, and Pereira won by TKO, completing his first title defense. On his loss at UFC 300, Hill said,
I dared to be great against adversity and against a great challenge and came up short at the highest level in the world!!! I answered the call twice on short notice to fight for a championship that most will never fight for!!! On to the next
@jiri_bjp least final make it happen!!
The former champion made no excuses and claimed that he came up short against an all-time great who is one of the best in the world. He also revealed that he has shown up to fight for the belt twice on short notice, something few will do if given the chance. He also revealed the name of the next opponent he wanted to take on inside of the octagon. He called out Jiri Prochazka. Prochazka won against Aleksandar Rakic in a rather exciting bout in the prelims of the UFC 300.
Given their fight styles, seeing Jamahal Hill face off against Prochazka will be interesting. Prochazka overcame adversity to fight Rakic and knocked him out in the later rounds. Prochazka will be willing to fight Jamahal to get closer to the title once again. Many will agree that Hill should take a few months off before returning, as he suffered from an ACL injury a few months before UFC 300.
