Conor McGregor is back with his social media posting. While the world awaits the return of the king, ‘Mystic Mac’ is busy giving payback to his haters. In a recent turn of events, the UFC 310 main event had to be canceled due to Belal Muhammad’s injury. This proved to be the perfect opportunity for the Irishman to get back at Muhammad for his earlier trolls.
Mocking the welterweight champion for his injury, McGregor took to his X account and wrote, “You lambasted UFC world champions multiple times on having to reschedule their bouts through injury, and now it has come down on you like a bomb from the sky. It is glorious to see!” He also took a dig at Muhammad, calling his fighting ‘scutter talk’.
Moreover, ‘The Notorious’ further launched a verbal tirade as he labeled the champion as an ‘infected fighter.’ Well, McGregor has reasons to be mad at Belal Muhammad. Back when McGregor had to pull out of UFC 303, Muhammad mocked him on X. He wrote, “My toe was a balloon.” Now, a similar toe injury has come back to haunt Muhammad. And as for McGregor, he is still waiting for his return.
Shadows Loom Large Over Conor McGregor’s Return
Conor McGregor has been out of action for almost three years now. Nursing an ankle injury suffered during his fight against Dustin Poirier, McGregor has been missing in action since. However, he was finally slated to face Michael Chandler in the TUF finale. However, complications with USADA testing norms prevented his comeback.
Finally, after a long wait, Dana White announced that the King would be making his return at UFC 303. Unfortunately, with just days to go for the fight, McGregor pulled out of the fight citing a toe injury. This was a serious setback that made even Michael Chandler lose interest in the matchup. With no surety of his comeback, Chandler moved on from the fight and will be facing off against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309.
