Fighter pay has been a hot topic of debate in the UFC. Many fighters have claimed that they don’t get paid enough to show up and scrap in the company. UFC President Dana White has previously said that he pays his fighters fairly well, and some of the champions make a ton of money in the UFC to win. The UFC 298 occurred a few months ago, and Ilia Topuria dethroned Alexander Volkanovski during the main event. The UFC 298 was a spectacular affair as Topuria became the Featherweight champion of the world.

The UFC champions receive a sweet cut from the number of PPVs sold. Alexander Volkanovski, the reigning Featherweight champion, also received a cut from the sold PPVs, although he lost his title to Ilia Topuria. Forbes is one of the most credible magazines in the world. The magazine talks about everything from business to money in the world. The magazine revealed the earnings of the majority of fighters that featured in UFC 298.
Alexander Volkanovski took home a basic pay of $750,000 for his loss to Topuria in the main event. Topuria made a whopping $350,000 as basic pay and got $50,000 more for knocking out Volkanovski. Former Middleweight champion of the world Robert Whittaker took home a cool $400,000 pay cheque, and his opponent Paulo Costa made a total of $250,000 for his loss against Whittaker. Merab Dvailishvili made a cool $105,000 as basic pay and another $105,000 to win his bout against the former two-division champion Henry Cejudo.
Future Hall of Famer and two-division champion Henry Cejudo took home a $150,000 pay cheque for his loss against Merab. It was interesting to see the company’s official fight purse of so many major fighters. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the near future and how much the majority of the stars get paid in the UFC.
