The Bantamweight division of the UFC has got some of the absolute best striker in the company. With Sean O’Malley holding the Bantamweight strap he is known for sniping out his opponents from a distance and beating them up. There is one more fighter who happens to be a fan favorite striker in the division. That is Cory Sandhagen. The man is a well known stellar striker who is quite creative and is known for his frightening pace. He last fought last year in the month of August.
Cory Sandhagen has been at the top of Bantamweight division for quite some time now but is yet to fight for a title. He recently gave his take on who he wants to scrap with inside of the octagon.
Cory Sandhagen opens on his next opponent
Cory Sandhagen is known for inflicting damage to his opponents via some of the most brutal knees and round house kicks. He last fought Rob Font when he touched him throughout the course of their matchup. Rob was no match of Sandhagen’s striking as Cory turned out to be too creative for the boxer. Sandhagen in an interview said,
That’s what I asked for (Umar Nurmagomedov in a five round fight). I feel like I am a five round figter and I do better in five round fights.
Cory made it clear that he wants to take on Umar Nurmagomedov next. Cory Sandhagen made it clear that he fine with taking fights with lower ranked opponents given the fact that they are promising and have the potential to do good in the company. Cory Sandhagen who’s on a three fight win streak wants to take on Khabib’s cousin. The Dagestanis are formidable opponents. They rarely lose inside of the octagon.
Umar Nurmagomedov is a five-fight veteran in the UFC. He has won all five of his fights up till now in the company. He was the champion in foreign MMA organizations. He has never been beaten in his MMA career. He has fought seventeen times and won all of his matchups. It will be interesting to see how does Cory deals with the threat of Umar.
