Movsar Evloev was all set to face Aljamain Sterling at UFC 307. But as luck would have it, Sterling had to bow out due to injury. Now, fans would think finding a replacement for Evloev would be a piece of cake, right? Wrong!
Turns out, most contenders wanted more time to prepare. Facing an undefeated fighter is no walk in the park. It’s more like a stroll through a minefield, But Jean Silva claimed he was ready and willing to step up. But according to him, Evloev wasn’t exactly jumping at the chance and he was fully scrapped from the card.
“It’s very ugly to say that you fight with anyone when you don’t even believe in yourself. You said that I am more dangerous than @funkmastermma, but you have not accepted to fight me yet,” wrote Silva in his Instagram story.
Silva went on to say Movsar Evloev’s talk is “already boring” and that he only wants to fight opponents he can take down easily. The Fighting Nerds member dropped a not-so-subtle threat, saying Evloev would have to face him “sooner or later.”
With the trajectory both of these fighters have in the featherweight division, it is more than likely that they will eventually face each other. In the meantime, both are without a fight as of yet. Maybe the UFC will pit them in a later card against each other.
