The face of Laura Sanko is now recognisable to combat enthusiasts everywhere. Sanko’s powerful demeanour, flawless microphone work, and strong personality have quickly helped her become well-known. In addition to covering the UFC for ESPN, Laura Sanko works as a commentator for Invicta FC. Sanko, who also holds a mixed martial arts background, participated in a professional match at Invicta FC 4 in January 2013.
Former WEC Lightweight Champion and UFC veteran Jamie Varner, doesn’t seem to be a big fan of Laura Sanko’s commentary at the UFC. He recently ignited a controversy online criticising Sanko’s skills after the Ribas vs Namajunas fight.

Jamie Varner Makes Rude Comments On Laura Sanko’s Commentary
An American mixed martial artist is named Jamie Varner. Varner participated in two UFC fights. In his debut matchup with seasoned fighter Hermes Franca, Varner was submitted (armbarred) in the third round. In his last fight, he submitted previously unbeaten Jason Gilliam in the first round (rear-naked choke). Varner went to the WEC following this victory.
Jamie Varner retired from the Combat Sports industry at the age of 30 after his Fight Night Phoenix Loss to Drew Dober.
Laura Sanko had been covering the Ribas vs Namajunas fight card, but Jamie wasn’t satisfied with the job, he told her that it would be better if an actual fighter who had well knowledge about the sport did it.

Jamie Varner wrote on X:
“@Laura_sanko is ruining the fights by talking so much. Leave the commentary to the people who have actually fought. A female UFC fighter should have that job, she is annoying and it’s obvious she is trying so hard and doesn’t know what she is talking about”.
He also added “@laura_sanko sucks so bad at commentating! She’s a try-hard who speaks about things she knows nothing about. Talking about blast doubles and how tiring it could be in the first round of the fight, like what do you know about any of those things? Stay in your lane, Tryhard”.
mma.uncensoredplus in their Instagram post posted the same captioning “ Former UFC fighter Jamie Varner is not a fan of Laura Sanko as a UFC commentator.

To this Laura responded in the comments, as she wrote: “ Whats ironic is that we actually fought on the same card for Titan FC and warmed up next to each other. It’s ok though. He can have his opinion.”
