Ilia Topuria is the UFC’s featherweight champion. He is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters after he spectacularly beat Alexander Volkanovski. Topuria witnessed the UFC 300 main event, where his potential rival Max Holloway was fighting for the BMF belt. Max Holloway shocked everyone when he took down Justin Gaethje in the final second of the fifth round.
Topuria gave Max his flowers but threatened to finish him in a potential bout later this year.
Ilia Topuria vows to finish Max Holloway
Ilia Topuria will be the favorite going into any bout in the octagon. Topuria has beaten almost every major featherweight in the division, barring Max Holloway. Topuria witnessed the UFC 300 live from the stands. Topuria praised Max Holloway but let him know what would happen if they met in the middle of the octagon. Topuria said,
Congrats on your performance Max . Respect your story and everything you achieved with a beautiful family . Hopefully we gonna share the octagon before the end of the year and trust me you gonna feel something that you never felt before . I will be the first one to take your lights out . Philippians 4:13
Max Holloway beat out Justin Gaethje for the BMF title. Ilia was shell-shocked when Max knocked out Justin in the final round. Ilia congratulated Holloway on his accomplishments in the UFC but vowed to fight Max at year’s end, knocking him out in the middle of the octagon. Ilia Topuria is a traditional boxer, and Max is an elite kickboxer.
Max Holloway is yet to respond but will be willing to take on the champion for a potential title bout. Ilia will be the toughest fight of Max’s career. Holloway and Topuria are two of the best featherweights on the planet, and it will be interesting to see what happens if they ever meet in the octagon to scrap.
