Umar Nurmagomedov has been one of the phenoms coming into the UFC. Trained by his legendary uncle, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Umar has been undefeated till now in Dana White’s promotion. Securing victories over names like Bekzat Almakhan and Cory Sandhagen, Umar made a strong case for himself. And now, having gotten the opportunity to clinch his maiden UFC title, the young Dagestani is sounding as confident as ever.
In a recent appearance on the ‘Pound4Pound’ show, Umar shed light on his exact plan against Merab Dvalishvili. After all, the champion made a huge statement after he defeated former champ, Sean O’Malley in a spectacular fashion. Thus, Umar knows that he cannot let the Georgians settle down and take control.
“I will attack him. When you attack him, he goes back. And when you’re going back, it’s very hard [to try for a] takedown. He [starts] winning fights when his opponents get tired… but he’ll not make me tired, never ever,” Nurmagomedov stated.
