Michael Chandler has once again started to reignite a beef with Conor McGregor. The duo has been in talks of a matchup from a long way back. Both McGregor and Chandler were supposed to lock horns with each other at the finale of TUF 31. Unfortunately, the fight did not materialize. After a long wait, the duo were finally booked for UFC 303. Once again, things took a somber turn as McGregor pulled out of the bout citing a toe injury.
Since then, the rivalry has gotten cold and Chandler got booked against Charles Oliveira instead. However, as per recent reports, ‘Iron’ Mike seems eager to get his hands on ‘The Notorious.’
“I pray for peace in the world and war in the ring!” wrote McGregor in one of his X updates. Replying to the post, Chandler took a dig at the Irishman saying, “Ring, cage, mat, canvas whatever you want to call it. All you have to do is step up @TheNotoriousMMA”
Now, while this might be an interesting match-up on paper, fans do not seem to approve of the same. Moreover, there is no definitive timeline for the former champ champ’s return. Chiming in with mixed reactions, the MMA world had some strong advice for ‘Iron.’

The fans seemed irked at the prospect of a bout between McGregor and Chandler happening. They even asked ‘Iron’ not to sound so desperate.

Thus, the fans seemed certain that Conor McGregor would not return to professional bouts anymore. Now, it will be interesting to see whether the prediction comes true or McGregor does indeed make a thumping return.
