Kamaru Usman has hit a rough patch lately, losing three fights in a row, including one at middleweight. Talks about his next fight are rampant, and many think he should fight a low-ranked opponent. However, Joe Rogan has a different opinion.
Rogan is championing Kamaru Usman for the next welterweight title shot. He reiterated the fact that Usman stepped up to fight the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev on just ten days’ notice. Talking on the JRE podcast, the UFC commentator argued that this gutsy move alone earned Usman a title shot.
“I think they give [Belal Muhammad] Kamaru [Usman], that’s the big money fight, it’s the smart fight. They owe Kamaru for taking Khamzat [Chimaev] on ten days’ notice,” said Rogan.
The current champion, Belal Muhammad, has a somewhat similar idea. He is okay with fighting either Usman or the undefeated Kazakhstani sensation, Shavkat Rakhmonov. Many claim that Rakhmonov deserves to be next as he has been on a tear, finishing all six of his UFC opponents.
Joe Rogan pointed out that Kamaru Usman, at 37, wasn’t getting any younger. He believes that this potential title shot might be his last chance at regaining welterweight glory. The comedian-turned-commentator hopes that the UFC will honor his dominant career and provide him with the opportunity for redemption!
Fight Fans Reacted To Joe Rogan Championing Kamaru Usman As The Next Title Contender

In fact, they’re usually a one-way trip to the back of the line. But Rogan does not care about that. He has his logic and reasoning behind this.
