Former UFC fighter Rodrigo de Lima tragically lost his life over the weekend in a hit and run incident following a dispute with an Uber driver in Belem, Brazil.
Via Yahoo Sports:
“According to those authorities, de Lima got into an argument with Jefferson Roger Maciel, the man who has been identified as the car’s driver.
De Lima left the car, and Maciel then hit de Lima from behind.”
De Lima fought twice for the UFC, losing to Neil Magny in 2014 and to Efrain Escudero in 2015. His overall fight record was 9-3-1. His last fight was in June 2018, by submitting Luiz Fabiano in the co-main event of Shooto Brazil 85.
De Lima was married with two children.
