Muhammad Mokaev just can’t catch a break. It’s like he is under some serious curse. A few weeks ago, the UFC removed him, and now the Dagestani fighter has gotten involved in a car accident. This rough patch he is going through seems never-ending. And it looks like the UFC fighter is in a tough bout with misfortune, getting knocked down by bad luck despite his best efforts to stay in the fight.
Russian media reports say former UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev was in a car crash in Dagestan. Apparently, he lost control of his Mercedes-AMG A 35 and landed in a ditch. Luckily, both Mokaev and his friend, who was with him inside the car, walked away without any major injuries.
While UFC fighters like Israel Adesanya have had accidents while driving drunk at night, that wasn’t the case for Mokaev. He was clean and heading to visit his family with a friend when the crash happened. Interestingly, as per reports, despite asking eyewitnesses not to take photos after they pulled him from the car, videos and images of the incident have spread across the Internet.
Just a day before, ‘The Punisher’ posted about his Mercedes, but he probably didn’t expect that just hours later, his car would suffer such serious damage. The pictures show significant damage to the bumper, fender, and windshield. Fortunately, he is safe and has only sustained minor injuries. However, he hasn’t said anything about it on social media until now.
Why Was Muhammad Mokaev Removed From the UFC Roster?
Although fighters sometimes face cuts after a series of disappointments, Mokaev was an undefeated rising star. But staying unbeaten isn’t enough to guarantee security; behavior plays a big role too. According to UFC CEO Dana White, Mokaev’s removal was partly due to his behavior and how he acted, which reportedly upset matchmakers, including Hunter Campbell.
In his words, “He’s just a guy that did everything wrong and p*ssed these guys off. I wasn’t involved with any of the stuff that happened with him, but the matchmakers and Hunter were, and they weren’t happy with him.”

Later, Mokaev offered to fight for free in his next bout and requested the UFC to re-sign him. Despite this gesture, the UFC did not take him up on the offer, and Mokaev eventually hinted at joining another promotion.
