Summer Tapasa-Sataraka was reportedly fired for using her awesome blocking skills to stop a shoplifter, but she is starting to get opportunities because of her actions.
UFC president Dana White came across that video when he spotted the Hawaiian Best Buy employee with her impressive moves, so he took to social media and decided to reward Tapasa-Sataraka with an all expenses paid trip to UFC 246 and a job offer.
”This is Summer,” White wrote in a tweet alongside video of the incident. “She stopped this punk from getting away with stealing from Best Buy in Hawaii. She got fired for this. Flying her in this weekend and giving her tickets to the McGregor vs Cowboy fight. I WANT HER TO WORK FOR ME! Get ready for the best weekend of your life Summer.”
Summer Tapasa-Sataraka made it clear in a Hawaii News Now article that she would’ve been fired, but had already put in a notice to quit.
“I could hear my manager in the back of me saying, ‘Let him go, Summer. It’s okay, let him go. Let him go,’” recalled Tapasa. “They would rather let an item go than us risking our lives, and I totally understand that. I appreciate that.”
The Salt Lake woman said she would have been fired for violating the company’s policy, but she had already put in her notice to resign because she wanted to focus on her other job.”
Dana White recently spoke to TMZ Sports and said that he would like to sign a former Best Buy employee that who went viral after she stopped a thief.

He said: “That’s the kind of person I want working for me. You’re crazy Best Buy. You should have kept her. I’m gonna steal her from you now. We talked to her on the phone. She’s got an incredible personality. She’s my kind of girl… I’m dead serious.”
