Alex Pereira will allegedly be in the corner of Sean Strickland for UFC 312. As it is well-known, the UFC light heavyweight champion has a close bond with Strickland. The duo have previously shown glimpses of their brotherhood that makes Pereira’s inclusion into UFC 312 a normalcy. And such an experienced campaigner joining hands with ‘Tarzan’ is expected to be bolstering his chances of reclaiming the middleweight title.
However, Dricus Du Plessis is not buying it. The champion does not think that Alex Pereira will be of any help to Strickland. When asked about the same on ‘Shak_Fu’, Du Plessis instead mocked his UFC 312 rival.
“Strickland can barely understand his own coach who’s also American. How’s he gonna understand Alex Pereira,” Du Plessis stated.

Well, what the South African referred to was the fact that Alex Pereira is not very fluent in English. Thus, if he gives any instructions, it will probably be in a different language that ‘Tarzan’ might not be able to understand. Meanwhile, with the all important title fight approaching, Sean Strickland encouraged Du Plessis for a stand up showdown. But the champion is not buying it.

With his all important title rematch approaching, Sean Strickland urged the champion to ‘fight like a man.’ Strickland stated that they should stand up and fight, giving the crowd a visual spectacle. But the South African did not seem to exhibit similar sentiments. Du Plessis immediately shrugged off the possibility when asked about the same.
“If you want to make pacts about us just standing up, go do boxing… Sean Strickland knows a lot of one-liners to sound tough, but I expose fake tough guys… I’m not here to make pacts. I’m here to win,” Du Plessis stated via ‘FOXSportsAUS.’
