The back and forth between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis is becoming quite interesting. Their rivalry dates way back when Strickland faced the Protea for his maiden title defense. Defending his title for the first time, Strickland went the full five rounds against Du Plessis. Unfortunately, when Bruce Buffer announced Dricus Du Plessis as the winner, ‘Tarzan’ felt it was not a correct decision.
He immediately started to complain about the judges getting it wrong. Thus, since then, Strickland has been waiting to get his rematch. Finally, when the opportunity arrived, ‘Tarzan’ asked Du Plessis about standing up to him and fighting. And such a demand from his opponent did not sit well with ‘Stillknocks’.
“If you want to make pacts about us just standing up, go do boxing… Sean Strickland knows a lot of one-liners to sound tough, but I expose fake tough guys… I’m not here to make pacts. I’m here to win,” said Du Plessis via ‘FOXSportsAUS.’

Coming off an emphatic win against Israel Adesanya, Du Plessis is looking high in confidence. Meanwhile, for the uninitiated, here’s what Sean Strickland commented that drew such a response from the South African.
Sean Strickland Demanded Dricus Du Plessis To Avoid Takedowns
Sean Strickland seemed pretty much hyped up for his UFC 312 bout. In a recent Instagram video, ‘Tarzan’ challenged Du Plessis to ditch the groundwork and fight him on the feet. This would mean that the duo would have to engage throughout the match in order to reach a decision.
“Listen [Dricus], I’m going to need you to be a f***ing man and stand up… I know you like to wrestle and you like to choke people out and do some gay sh*t,” Strickland stated.

However, looking at DDP’s reaction, it doesn’t seem that he is signing up for the pact. But with the verbal spat getting intense, it now remains to be seen who has the last laugh come UFC 312.
