Dricus Du Plessis does not seem to be catching a break. While his middleweight title defense awaits at UFC 312, ‘Stillknocks’ seems to be fixated on Islam Makhachev. It is no secret that Makhachev has expressed his wish to venture out for a second belt. And ever since then, Du Plessis has been taking verbal shots at the lightweight champion.
After Makhachev had a significantly easy victory over Renato Moicano at UFC 311, the UFC realm has stood up and admired the Dagestani’s prowess. However, much in contrast, Dricus du Plessis does not feel the same. He feels that Makhachev has zero chance of winning the UFC middleweight belt. What’s more, he even called Makhachev an ‘easy fight.’
“If there’s ever a situation where there’s no fight for me, no fight for him that makes sense, I’d be more than happy to do that,” said Du Plessis while speaking in ‘MainEventTV.’

Well, such a bold claim coming from Dricus du Plessis is nothing new. Previously, as well, ‘Stillknocks’ lashed out at the Dagestani fighter. Du Plessis claimed that he would definitely overpower Makhachev due to his significant size advantage. Meanwhile, as Du Plessis is busy taking shots at the lightweight king, Sean Strickland recently had an interesting clause for the middleweight champion.
Sean Strickland Demands Stand Up Showdown With Dricus du Plessis
Sean Strickland is thinking of nothing less than revenge. Having lost his title in what he thinks was a controversial decision, ‘Tarzan’ has been waiting for his turn for a long time. While he did not get his rematch immediately, UFC 312 provides him with a fantastic chance of regaining his title back.
Now, with just a few weeks left for the intriguing showdown, Strickland has laid down an interesting clause for his opponent. “Listen [Dricus], I’m going to need you to be a f***ing man and stand up… I know you like to wrestle, and you like to choke people out and do some gay sh*t,” said Strickland recently.
