Drake is well-known for his history of betting on combat sports, which has earned him the nickname ‘Drake Curse.’ Recently, during a livestream conversation with Adin Ross, the Canadian rapper was asked about his favorite fighter. Moreover, he gave two names which did not include the undefeated fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov.
He named Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor as two of his all-time favorites. Notably, both are two of the most beloved and entertaining fighters in the UFC, known for their strong fan following and trash-talking abilities, which have played a key role in promoting their fights. Both fighters are adored by many and are often considered fan favorites.
In their casual exchange, Drake responded by saying, “The money, the wins, nothing. So to me, it’s Nate [Diaz]. That’s my favorite fighter because Nate is just crazy through and through. Obviously, I have other favorite fighters. I love Conor [McGregor] with all my heart, that’s my guy.”
Additionally, Drake mentioned that he respects people for who they are and where they come from, emphasizing that nothing else can change that. Meanwhile, there were discussions about the potential for a Diaz vs. McGregor fight.
Nate Diaz’s Coach Calls For Conor McGregor Trilogy
Diaz’s coach believes the trilogy fight with Conor McGregor remains the UFC’s biggest potential matchup. With each fighter having one win in their rivalry, fans have long been eager for a third fight. Despite Diaz being a free agent and exploring other opportunities, his coach insists that the McGregor trilogy is still a “massive” fight fans want to see. In a recent interview, Jake Shields, who has worked with Diaz for over a decade, said,
“Nate is a superstar. I don’t know if Conor is ready to fight again, but Nate and Conor is the fight that makes sense again. That would just be a massive fight the fans want to see. Some people could knock it saying Conor has lost his last couple of fights. But its still a marquee super fight. Sometimes that is what is important.”
