UFC 299 turned out to be a spectacular affair. The matchups were made in fight heaven. UFC 299 will go down as one of the best cards in recent history solely because of its entertainment value. Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera clashed in the main card.
Sean put on an absolute clinic against Vera as he out struck him throughout the course of the five round fight. Former two-division king Henry Cejudo went down hard on Marlon Vera due to his rather dull showing.
Henry Cejudo has previously won two UFC titles and an Olympic gold. Cejudo is definitely well aware of what it takes to claim the top prize in a sport. He gave his two cents on the recent title fight that took place at the UFC 299.
Henry Cejudo lashes out on Marlon Vera
Henry Cejudo has been enjoying the finer things in life during his off-time from fighting. On a recent appearance on a podcast with Kamaru, Cejudo said,
Chito especially the way he’s performing, just decides to fight in the last minute of every fifth round fight. I just don’t know where his head’s at? I don’t if it’s tat pressure that gets to him. But wither way the dude had no tactical fighting, never attempted a takedown, never attempted to really cover the distance. Was reacting to Sean O’Malley’s fakes. Never seen somebody twitch so damn much.
He added,
If you’re getting out struck pull some of the wrestling. Attempt to take down. You’re a big dude. Get to his legs. Put him against the cage. Clinch him. Do something.

Cejudo didn’t mince his words and spoke his mind after Marlon Vera’s disappointing showdown against the Suga show. Cejudo claimed that Vera has a very one-dimensional game of strikes. He never used any of the wrestling to neutralize Sean O’Malley. Sean has had problems in the past against traditional wrestlers.
If Vera would have a well rounded fighting style he probably would be the one to hold the UFC gold. It’ll be interesting to see who Marlon takes on next after losing his maiden title shot.
