The relationship between Donald Trump and UFC boss Dana White is no longer a secret. Their friendship has endured for years, with the former president being a long-time fan of the promotion. However, it seems Trump has made a comment that UFC CEO White may not appreciate, as he snubbed Jon Jones in favor of Khabib Nurmagomedov, declaring Khabib his favorite fighter and calling him the best ever.
As Trump makes the rounds in the media ahead of the elections, he recently appeared on the Full Send Podcast. During the discussion, the host asked him about his favorite UFC fighter. While Trump recognized Jon Jones’s greatness, he ultimately snubbed him by declaring Khabib Nurmagomedov as his favorite. Trump praised Khabib for never losing a single round in his career, suggesting the Russian fighter’s dominance in the cage.
He stated, “I talked to Dana White about this. A lot of people say Jon Jones is the best… But I would say Khabib. He is 29-0 and they say he never lost a one round and then he retired (when) his father died. And then he said that’s it, I would say he couldn’t do better.”
In sports, the question of who is the greatest can never be definitively answered, as it is always open to debate. Everyone has their own biases and perspectives that shape their opinions. While Dana White views Jon Jones as the best, for Trump, it’s Khabib. And it’s not the first time he said it.
Donald Trump Opens Up About Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Special Request
During the same podcast, Trump discusses his meeting with Khabib after UFC 302. He reveals that the Dagestani legend made a special request, seeking insight into how he could help stop the war.
In his words, “I met him at one of the fights. You know what he wanted to talk about? He wanted to say, “Is there any way you could stop the war because so many people are being killed?” So, you know he has a heart. He’s smart. How can you stop the war?”

On his social media, Nurmagomedov often shares messages advocating for peace and calling for an end to wars around the world. He understands that if Trump were to regain power, he would have the influence necessary to make a significant impact and help stop conflicts. But for that first Trump has to win the upcoming elections.
