It’s no secret that Donald Trump has a strong affinity for the UFC and its fighters. He has attended numerous events, largely due to his love for sports and his friendship with Dana White. Meanwhile, in a recent conversation with Joe Rogan, Trump revealed that the upcoming election will influence his plans for UFC 309, which features Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic. The 45th US President expressed that depending on the election outcome, he might attend the fight or miss it due to feelings of depression.
The long-awaited collaboration between Donald Trump and Joe Rogan finally happened, with the former US president appearing on the JRE ahead of the upcoming elections. Amid political discussions, Trump also spoke passionately about one of his favorite topics outside of politics and business: the UFC.
While discussing sports, Trump expressed his admiration for Bo Nickal, asking when his next fight would be. Upon learning it’s scheduled after the election, he joked that he’d either be there or too depressed to attend, depending on the outcome.
“You know Bo Nickal is a great fighter. When is he fighting again? Oooh, that is going to be interesting after the elections. So, I will either go as President, or I will be depressed and won’t bother coming,” he stated.
While it’s still unclear whether Trump will make it to the event, his debut on Joe Rogan’s podcast has fans buzzing with excitement.

When asked Trump, he stated, “Well, I think Khabib. He was 29-0, and then his father died, and he stopped. I think he never lost a round… I met him a few fights ago, and he said, ‘You are the man who could stop the war,’ talking about Ukraine and Russia.”
This isn’t the first time Trump has named Khabib Nurmagomedov as his favorite fighter; he has mentioned it on several occasions. It will be interesting to see whether he attends the upcoming event or not.
