Conor McGregor was diligently preparing for his UFC comeback after nearly three and a half years of absence. However, just weeks before the event, Dana White confirmed that McGregor’s participation was canceled due to an injury sustained during training camp.
Recently, McGregor attended the Bellator Champions Series in Dublin to support fellow Irish fighter Sinead Kavanagh. Let’s explore McGregor’s comments regarding his injury and his plans for returning to the octagon.
“I’ve made the walk a couple times under similar circumstances, for what? Okay, if I was in a different part of my career… I’ve taken those chances. The fans don’t deserve to see the fighters walk in there hindered and then hear about it after.” McGregor said.
Conor McGregor pulled out of the sold-out UFC 303 pay-per-view, citing an injury. UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira stepped up to fill the void, ensuring the event remained intact. Dana White opted to alter the main event for this card completely. Recently, McGregor teased his comeback on social media with a post declaring, “I Will Be Back.”
