For those who have been scrolling the internet, they know about David Goggins’ body of work. The retired United States Navy SEAL and an ultramarathon runner is widely recognized for his motivational videos on social media. His notable MMA assignment includes training the former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson for his fight against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296.
Goggins recently shared a video on his TikTok to respond to a challenge from Sean Strickland. The ‘Tarzan’ called out the 49-year-old ultramarathon runner for sparring. In his reply video, Goggins said, “This is your opportunity to show the world that you can f*ck me up.”
Knowing Goggins was in Las Vegas and considering him tough, Strickland challenged the 49-year-old to a 15-minute spar to test his mental and physical endurance. The ‘Tarzan’ recently fought another Navy Seal, Mitch Auguir, but the latter impressed him with his incredible performance.
Now, after Goggins accepted his challenge, Strickland mocked the 29-year-old and posted a sarcastic reply video on his Instagram handle.
“Goggins, I heard you want a piece. Challenge accepted. Just so you know man, the only thing you beat me at in life is f**king running. But guess what, I don’t have to f**king run. You run for me.” Strickland wrote in his Instagram caption.

Is Sean Strickland Waiting for a Title Shot?
Whether the Goggins and Sean Strickland will be involved in sparring or not, the ‘Tarzan’ will surely wait for his title shot. He became the number one contender in the middleweight division after defeating Paulo Costa at UFC 302.
Strickland has already confirmed that he will fight for the middleweight title. However, after Robert Whittaker’s first-round knockout of Ikram Aliskerov in Saudi Arabia, there were suggestions to hold a title eliminator fight between him and Strickland. But the American fighter notoriously rejected the idea of facing ‘The Reaper.’
Since he doesn’t want to face any other opponent, Sean Strickland will have to wait for his title shot. However, a bout between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis is fixed for UFC 305, with the latter defending his middleweight title. After this fight, UFC President Dana White will most likely announce the next title shot contender – which obviously is ‘Tarzan.’
