UFC President Dana White has saved the UFC 303 card after Conor McGregor withdrew from the main event due to an injury. Michael Chandler was in camp and ready for the bout with the Irishman in the cage. UFC President Dana White revealed that he does feel sorry for the former Bellator champion in the octagon.
Michael Chandler last fought in the octagon against Justin Gaethje at the end of 2022. It’s almost two years since Michael Chandler fought in the octagon, and unfortunately for him, he will need to wait a bit longer on the sidelines.

The UFC 303 main event, with Conor taking on Chandler, was canceled because McGregor left the fight due to an injury. Chandler has been sitting on the sidelines for quite some time now. In an interview, Dana White praised the former Bellator man. Dana White said,
I think poor Chandler wants to wait for Conor McGregor man. If he wants to get a fight this summer, we’ll do whatever he wants. He’s one of the greatest athletes I’ve ever worked with.
White clarified that Chandler has his eyes set on the Conor fight. He does not want to fight anyone other than the former two-division champion in the octagon. Chandler has not fought since 2022, when he lost to Gaethje.
Dana praised Michael Chandler as an athlete and claimed he would do anything to put Chandler up against anyone he wanted this summer. He also claimed he’s one of the best athletes in the UFC he’s dealt with.

White praised Chandler’s upbeat attitude and ability to take on any challenge in the octagon. Since entering the UFC, Michael Chandler has fought all the top Lightweight contenders in the Octagon. It will be interesting to see what happens in the near future with the Lightweight ace. Will he take on Conor, or will Chandler fight another top Lightweight in the octagon? It remains to be seen.
