The longstanding feud between Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya continues to escalate. The latter recently took a personal jab at White, reigniting their rivalry. Their feud started when De La Hoya expressed interest in promoting MMA fights, a move White criticized. Ahead of UFC 305, De La Hoya resurrected a contentious issue, referencing a past incident where White was involved in a domestic dispute and slapping his wife.
De La Hoya recently appeared on the former NFL superstar Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast on YouTube. He discussed an incident involving White slapping his wife at a Cabo San Lucas nightclub. During the interview, De La Hoya criticized White, stating,
“When a guy slaps his wife in public, you know when his mom writes a book about him. Saying that he is a douche, his own mom? That’s all I have to say.”
The boxing promoter believes White viewed him as a threat in the MMA world and tried to undermine him. De La Hoya said that when he first considered entering MMA, he felt White was determined to bury him instead of facing competition.

The rivalry between boxing and MMA has extended beyond the athletes, with promoters White and De La Hoya engaged in a feud. Their rivalry dates back to the Mayweather-McGregor crossover event. However, White has openly stated that he and De La Hoya will never be friends again.
Despite their personal differences, the question remains: Will they put aside their differences to collaborate on a future boxing-MMA super fight? If that ever happens, it will surely be a treat for combat sports fans.
