It all started at UFC 306, held at the luxurious new Sphere in Las Vegas. The event was supposed to be flawless, a real feather in Dana White’s cap. The UFC’s big boss recently found himself in the middle of a hilarious case of mistaken identity, and the recipient of this was none other than Boxing champion Terence Crawford.
During the broadcast, someone goofed up big time. They mistook boxing champ Crawford for rapper Kendrick Lamar. ‘Bud’ even joked that it might have been intentional. But Dana White, never one to miss a chance for a good laugh, decided to join the party. He responded to Crawford’s Instagram post about the mix-up with a zinger of his own.
“@tbudcrawford I hear you Champ – Joe Rogan,” wrote White, commenting on Terence Crawford’s post.
White’s response was a masterclass in self-deprecating humor. At the post-fight press conference, he had admitted that Crawford did “kind of look like Kendrick Lamar.” White’s handling of the situation shows a refreshing ability to laugh at himself. It’s not often you see a big-time executive rolling with the punches like this.
The whole incident adds a touch of humanity to the high-octane world of UFC. It reminds us that even in a sport where perfection is the goal, there’s room for a good laugh. So next time you’re at a UFC event and think you spot Kendrick Lamar, take a closer look. It might just be Terence Crawford!

Steele hosted Dana White on The Sage Steele Show. Everything was moving smoothly, with the UFC CEO answering her questions with authority and zeal. Then came the final question from the host herself that prompted countless memes and hilarious exchanges in the MMA community.
“Last question. What is Joe Rogan’s dream?” asked Steele while talking to Dana White.
White obviously looked confused as he locked eyes with the host. He repeated the question, and it was at this moment that Steele realized she had messed up. After nearly a 2 hour interview, she called Dana White Joe Rogan.
The UFC CEO grabbed it like the reigns on a horse and continued to grill the former ESPN host about her mistake. But it was all in good fun. This incident is still fresh in White’s mind as he made the same joke with poor Terence Crawford, who was mistaken for Kendrick Lamar at UFC 306!
