Jon Jones has risen in the pound-for-pound rankings but hasn’t managed to claim the top spot. UFC president Dana White, who considers Jones the greatest of all time in MMA, insists he deserves the number one ranking. White had previously brought up the issue before UFC 309 when Bones made his return. However, even after his victory at UFC 309, Jones still wasn’t ranked first, prompting White to seek Mark Zuckerberg’s assistance in addressing the ranking system.
Jones, who recently showcased his dominance in the heavyweight division with a victory over Stipe Miocic, successfully defended his title in a commanding fashion. ‘Bones’ secured the win with a spinning back kick to the body. Despite his impressive performance, Jon Jones still trails lightweight champion Islam Makhachev on the UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings.
White has previously mentioned exploring the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to rank fighters and is now considering seeking assistance from Mark Zuckerberg. White has consistently expressed his frustration with the media panel responsible for the UFC rankings.
On his Instagram story, he said: “I have to get rid of these CLOWNS!”

White has expressed doubts about Islam Makhachev’s position atop the pound-for-pound rankings. Currently, Jones has climbed to the second spot, overtaking Alex Pereira, who previously held that position. With its unpredictable fights and ever-changing rankings, the UFC continues to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
Conor McGregor Responds To Dana White’s 2025 Fight Hype
Conor McGregor’s leg break in July 2021, Mike Tyson has managed to return to the ring before him. The boxing legend went eight rounds with Jake Paul on Friday night, while McGregor’s comeback remains uncertain. At 36, the former UFC champion may be out of action until late 2025, according to Dana White’s recent statement.

“He’s going to fight in 2025, probably at the end of the year. If it’s earlier, that’s good for all of us,” White said.
McGregor hasn’t responded to White’s comments yet, but they contradict his recent claim to BloodyElbow.com that he plans to fight in Saudi Arabia on February 1. With no official confirmation on his return, fans are left wondering if McGregor will ever step into the Octagon again.
