This weekend, the biggest MMA promotion is all set to bring a once-in-a-lifetime event from the shimmering Las Vegas Sphere. The stakes are so high, and it seems like Dana White has given an open love letter to Mexican fans as he presents this kind of mega spectacle featuring Sean O’Malley vs. Merab Dvalishvili. On the same day, Canelo Alvarez will face Edgar Berlanga, creating some PPV competition. Despite that, White recently stated he would honor the “Mexican Monster” as UFC 306 would pay tribute to Mexican fighters.
This isn’t the first time Dana White has organized an event specifically to honor Mexican fans for their contributions. After last year’s success, White has stepped it up this year with a $20 million event. Beyond just creating a major spectacle, he’s also focused on paying tribute to Mexican fighters. Considering that Canelo Alvarez, a legendary Mexican boxer, is fighting this weekend, White was asked if Canelo would also be honored. He responded affirmatively, stating that Canelo will definitely be part of the tribute.
In his words, “We gonna honor everybody who ever came from Mexico that fought for anything will be honor on the show. Canelo is definitely part of it.”
To give a context, a unique ‘movie’ will be shown on the massive LED screen inside The Sphere. And now White has confirmed that legends such as Julio Cesar Chavez, Salvador Sanchez, and Canelo will be featured in this presentation. Considering White’s history of delivering on his promises, if he says it will be incredible, it’s likely to be just that.
Dana White Promises Big Things at UFC 306- What’s in Store for $20 Million?
Dana White explained that the special movie will play on the big screen before each fight at the event in The Sphere. He stated that the movie is divided into chapters, so before a fight, the audience will watch a part of the movie, and then the fighters will enter. Subsequently, after every fight, another chapter of the movie will play.
Not only the movie part but for the first time in ESPN history, a UFC event will be broadcast at 1080p, offering higher-quality viewing. And for the fans, Dana White and Co. also introduced a haptic seat, which provides feedback during the action in the Octagon, allowing fans to feel the intensity of the fights.

Fighters will wear custom kits as UFC 306 is renamed ‘Riyadh Season Noche UFC,’ the first time a sponsor gets title partner status. Eight new Octagon Girls, mostly Mexican, will debut.
