It appears there’s actually some smoke to the fire that is the possibility of a cage match between billionaires Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. However, there’s still one thing holding it up.
Musk and Zuckerberg are keen to get physical with each other and, according to TMZ, they are not joking about fighting in the octagon. The publication also reports that UFC president Dana White is absolutely on board with hosting the bout but has pointed to Mark’s size disadvantage as a major issue.
Elon stands at 6ft 1in and weighs somewhere between 185 and 200 lbs while Mark weighs around 155 lbs and is 5ft 7in tall. That leaves the SpaceX founder with a 6-inch advantage and anywhere between a 30 to 45 lb advantage.
The Facebook owner would be a lightweight if he was an MMA fighter; Musk would be a middleweight or light heavyweight.
Weight classes don’t really matter when it comes to exhibition fights but Zuckerberg might not want to walk into the octagon as disadvantaged as he is. He’s not known for his scrapping prowess either.
Speaking on TMZ Live this week, White disclosed having spoken to both men, noting that they are “absolutely dead serious” about getting their hands on each other.

Of course, the gulf between weights could be closed with diets. So maybe we’ll get a fight between the two magnates at some point in the near future.
