Conor McGregor’s return to the UFC has been a hot topic for fight fans. The Irish superstar hasn’t stepped into the octagon since his brutal leg injury in 2021. But now, fans have got some juicy news straight from the big boss himself.
Dana White has finally spilled the beans on McGregor’s comeback. In a recent interview with NY Post Sports, he dropped a bombshell. The news is not what McGregor fans might be hoping for as they will be waiting a bit longer for ‘The Notorious’ return.
“I was the one this year saying I don’t think he’s going to fight this year. With all the talk and everything else. Even with the fight being set up and the press conference. Conor McGregor will fight next year, early 2025. As far as the hunger, he’s a very wealthy guy, we’ll find out when he comes back,” said White.
But why the long wait? White hinted at a few factors at play. For starters, there’s the small matter of McGregor being loaded. When you’re swimming in cash, the hunger to get punched in the face might not be as strong.
But Dana White assured that Conor McGregor still has that fire in his belly. He’s just taking his sweet time stoking those flames. And with him on the card, 2025 seems a promising start for the UFC.
