Dricus Du Plessis will have his first middleweight title defense at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia, against former title holder Israel Adesanya. While the event’s main card is set, it seems another exciting fight is about to be added. After teasing it for a while on the Internet, Dan Hooker finally announced his fight against Mateusz Gamrot. However, Dana White is yet to confirm it with the official announcement.
While Bobby Green expressed his desire to fight Hangman, he did have other plans. In his latest Instagram post, he shared a video announcing that he will compete next month in Perth — though not against Green or Beneil Dariush. Talking on UFC on Sky, Hooker stated that he is booked against Gamrot.
Previously, Dan Hooker had hinted about being booked for this event, sharing a picture on his Instagram suggesting his involvement. Interestingly, Adesanya expressed a desire to have Hooker on the card to bolster its lineup. Following the news, the Kiwi also reiterated this on X (formerly Twitter).
Indeed, it will be intriguing to see how Hooker seizes this opportunity and whether he can extend his winning streak or if Gamrot will hand him his 13th career loss. Apart from this, all eyes will be on the main event.
