Dan Hooker, the UFC lightweight sensation, is riding high after his recent victory at UFC 305. The New Zealand native has been on a rollercoaster ride in his career lately. Now, it seems he might be setting his sights on an even bigger challenge.
In a recent interview with ‘The Mac Life,’ Hooker dropped a bombshell that has fans buzzing. He hinted at a potential showdown with none other than Charles Oliveira, the former UFC lightweight champion. This news comes as a surprise to many in the MMA community.
“You say I’m not gonna say it… I don’t know… I don’t know what’s next… Yeah, they want Charles [Oliveira], that’s a good fight I mean… But there’s like heaps of cool sh** I could do,” said Hooker.
Hooker, known for his exciting fighting style, secured a split-decision win over Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305. The fight was a barn burner, earning both fighters the coveted “Fight of the Night” bonus. It seems this performance has catapulted Hooker into the upper echelons of the lightweight division.
The prospect of a Hooker vs. Oliveira fight is mouth-watering for UFC fans. Oliveira, coming off a loss to Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300, is looking to bounce back. But only time will tell if this fight against Charles Oliveira materializes or another challenger will step up.

In the same interview with The Mac Life, Hooker didn’t mince words about his feelings towards Tsarukyan. ‘The Hangman’ expressed a strong desire to face the rising Armenian star in the Octagon.
“I said to Hunter, I said to Sean, I’d like to fight Arman because yeah, screw it. You know? I said I hate the prick. I told Hunter, I said, ‘I’m gonna smash his face…’ And I said, ‘I hate the dog…’ He’s a pr*ck, he’s been talking s**t for years,” said Hooker.
However, fans eager for this potential grudge match might need to exercise patience. Tsarukyan is currently serving a suspension until the end of the year. The earliest he could return to action is likely December. Plus, he is the number 1 contender for the belt. Fans would have to wait and see how Hooker’s storyline turns out post-UFC 305.
