Fans likely never anticipated seeing two of the UFC’s biggest entertainers in the ring together, but Dan Hooker is optimistic about a potential fight with Conor McGregor. To make this happen, Hooker plans to travel to Marbella, Spain, with the aim of persuading the Irishman to accept a bout. McGregor has been on the lookout for a comeback opponent, and now Hooker is stepping up, approaching ‘The Notorious’ to request a fight.
McGregor was set to make his comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 but had to pull out due to a toe injury. Chandler has since secured another fight with Charles Oliveira. However, McGregor always has a roster of potential opponents. Recently, ‘the Hangman’ is keen to convince McGregor to fight him if they happen to meet at the BKFC event on October 12. In a recent interview, Hooker stated,
“Obviously, my eyes are on the title and I know that I’ve got a big fight coming up next. But I am actually heading over to the Bareknuckle Fighting Championships in Spain next week. Which Conor McGregor happens to own. So by the end of next week, I hopefully get a chance to either just have a word with him. And see if he is interested in the fight.”
After delivering a standout performance at UFC 305, where he secured a victory over Mateusz Gamrot, ‘The Hangman’ now finds himself without a higher-ranked opponent to face. While his potential fight with McGregor remains uncertain, lightweight contender Renato Moicano has called out Hooker, suggesting it would be an easy money fight.
Renato Moicano Challenges Dan Hooker: “Easy Money”
Moicano delivered an impressive performance last weekend in Paris, securing a TKO victory over Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC Fight Night. During his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, Moicano voiced his desire for a more straightforward matchup, specifically calling out Paddy Pimblett and Hooker as his top choices. He stated,
“Next, I want easy Paddy Pimblett, easy money. Dan Hooker, easy money. Don’t come up with bulls*** fights. Don’t come up with guys that are tough. I want easy fights.”

Moicano acknowledged that Saint-Denis was a formidable opponent but reiterated his desire for easier matchups moving forward. Meanwhile, Hooker is focused on negotiating with McGregor in hopes of securing a future fight. However, if McGregor turns down the opportunity, could Hooker consider facing Moicano instead? Only time will tell.
