After the devastating loss to France in the Euro 2024 quarterfinals, Cristiano Ronaldo fans were absolutely heartbroken. However, it wasn’t his friend Conor McGregor who showed him support! Instead, it was McGregor’s training partner, Dillon Danis, who didn’t fail to offer his thoughts on the possibility of Ronaldo’s last Euro Cup match.
For those who didn’t follow the match in Hamburg, Germany, it was a close match that remained 0-0 even after extra time. Finally, it was France that secured a victory over Portugal in the nail-biting thriller via penalty shots. Portugal’s loss also marked a bitter end to Ronaldo’s Euro 2024 journey.
Dillon Danis Acknowledges Cristiano Ronaldo As “Legend”
Thousands of fans on the internet were emotional with “who cut the onion” memes, speculating if that’s the end of CR7’s Euro career. But Danis had different things on his mind. Known for mocking popular celebrities from Logan Paul to others, McGregor’s training partner supported the soccer legend with just one word and a photo taken during one of their training sessions together.
The 30-year-old shared an image of himself and Ronaldo standing in the octagon of a UFC gym on his Instagram story, writing “legend” with a heart emoji.
While McGregor has not yet commented on the event or Ronaldo’s loss to France, speculation is mounting that Portugal’s unexpected exit could mark the end of the road for the soccer legend. Moreover, the Irish fighter, too, has last stepped foot in the octagon back in 2021. Fans are still confused about whether they should hope to see McGregor in action again after he withdrew from his latest bout against Michael Chandler.
Is Conor McGregor’s Training Partner Making His Debut in UFC?
There was a lot of talk about Danis making his debut in the UFC. However, the MMA promotion’s president Dana White poured cold water on this last year, putting an end to the speculation.

White explained on the Full Send Podcast, “I have no beef with the kid at all, I’ve probably said two words to him in my whole life. But every time he’s around, s***’s going down. We can’t have that stuff going on here. A lot of people will see when guys get into it on stage or something starts to happen, they’re like ‘Oh, they must love this’ or whatever. No. No, we don’t love it.”
According to White, the UFC isn’t interested in signing Danis just for the sake of getting attention. The UFC has certain standards, and Danis has yet to prove his combat skills on a big stage. So, the possibility of his joining is nearly zero. Will McGregor’s famous training partner make his way into the octagon? Only time can tell!
